Luncheon Meeting of  the IAEA Far East Group

H.E. Ambassador Lourdes O. Yparraguirre chairs the meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Far East Group on 27 January 2012. The Far East Group is one of the eight regional groups in the IAEA which nominate officers to the policy-making organs of the IAEA. The other members are Japan, China, Vietnam, Mongolia and the Republic of Korea. The meeting exchanged views on the latest issues being discussed in the IAEA. Ambassador Yparraguirre turned over the chairmanship of the Group for 2012 to Vietnam.

11th ASEAN Vienna Committee (AVC)

First meeting of the ASEAN Vienna Committee on 08 February 2012 under the chairmanship of H.E. Ambassador Lourdes O. Yparraguirre of the Philippines. The meeting was held at the Philippine Embassy in Vienna. The AVC discussed, among others, national initiatives, current developments in ASEAN as well as the countries under the jurisdiction of the respective ASEAN delegations; economic and political developments in Europe, particularly the EU efforts at addressing the Eurozone crisis; issues pending before the UN Organizations in Vienna; and social and outreach events to raise the profile of ASEAN in Vienna.
