The Philippine Government has declared a state of national calamity following the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sendong (international code name “Walsh”). The President has visited the area and is fully apprised of the situation and the urgent need for assistance.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Center (NDRRMC), massive flooding has been reported throughout Region X, especially in Iligan City (Lanao del Norte) and Cagayan de Oro City (Misamis Oriental).
